Jonathan Davis
Jonathan Davis
Jonathan Davis was born January 18, 1971 in Bakersfield, California.

Most famous for being the vocalist of the nu-metal band Korn. Started singing in bands during high school. Played with the band “SexArt”. Was discovered by James 'Munky' Shaffer and Brian 'Head' Welch when he was playing with Sexart. Joined “L.A.P.D. (4)” as lead vocalist renaming the band Korn. Replaced singer Richard Morill.

Davis has frequently been a guest musician in various other bands. As of 2007, he also has his own solo-project, “Jonathan Davis And The Simply Fucking Amazings”. Their acoustic performances contain seldom-played Korn tracks, as well as tracks he helped producing but could not play with Korn. Davis also started performing as a DJ as of 2009 under the name “J Devil”.
Davis also had a fairly small acting career.

Davis has displayed a wide variety of vocal styles over the years. He is well-known for putting his emotions in his songs. His scat, or incredibly fast and gibberish-style singing, is very prominent in Korn. It is known as korn-jabber. He screams, whispers, grunts, wails, he even weeps during songs. As a child, Davis was sexually abused by a close friend of his family. The song Daddy is about this abuse and the fact that his parents didn't believe it was happening. As well as being Korn's lead singer, he has also plays drums and bagpipes. Davis writes songs on guitar and other various instruments, such as glass harmonica and bagpipes.

Davis suffered from idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura, making him unable to perform several weeks in 2006. Davis has been sober from drugs and alcohol since August 22, 1998.
The Birthday Massacre
The Birthday Massacre
The Birthday Massacre is from Toronto, Canada. Combining their interests in various musical and artistic styles, the band has successfully accumulated an impressive international fan base, press accolades, and defied categorization with their unique sound and visuals.

The band was formed in 1999 and independently produced and recorded their first two albums, Nothing and Nowhere and Violet. Through both of these high-demand releases, as well as their highly acclaimed and beautifully atmospheric website, the band obtained a large and loyal fan base throughout the world. Due to their independent success, in 2005 they were approached by European record label Repo Records (followed shortly by Metropolis Records in North America) and the band began its steady climb to reaching a much wider audience with the 2007 release of the acclaimed and wildly popular Walking With Strangers.

In the last few years, the band has been performing internationally, traveling extensively across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, the U.K. and Europe. They have become renowned for their high-energy live performances, drawing large, mixed crowds through their appeal to fans of a surprisingly wide range of genres. Equally comfortable playing intimate venues as they are on a festival stage, the band's highly-praised performances will continue into the next year as they continue touring.

Their fourth full length album "Pins And Needles" will be released on September 14th and will be accompanied with a release tour from Sept. 8-15th.

Currently, the band is preparing for shows in the U.S.A and Toronto for the Cd release tour... and they will also be returning to the U.K. in October....AND the USA again in November.
Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck have been musical partners for 15+ years. During their
time together they have weaved in and out of mainstream music like a constantly
evolving musical fashion house. In the late 90's they were responsible for massive
radio and sales hits such as "Blind" (Korn), "Blue Monday"," Stitches", and "Fiction"
(Orgy), and recently "Crawl Back In" and "Let Down" (Dead By Sunrise with their pal
Chester Bennington). After enjoying years of traditional music business success, they
have spent the last 10 years methodically moving away from the mainstream
approach that put them on the map, opting to carefully steer their fans in a new
direction, towards their new independent alternative electro rock project Julien-K –
which sounds more at home with the likes of modern acts such as M83, The Kills,
LCD Soundsystem, The Naked and Famous, Empire of the Sun, and even the Black
Keys (see Derakh's sleazy electro-blues guitar playing on "We're Here With You").
2009 saw the long awaited release of “Death to Analog” which included long time
collaborators Anthony “Fu” Valcic and Brandon Belsky in the studio with Belsky and
drummer Elias Andra rounding out the live show. After Belsky and Andra’s 2010
departure, Julien-K’s studio line up solidified as the trio of Derakh, Shuck and Valcic,
while collaborations with electronic music innovators such as Bryan Black (Motor,
Black Asteroid), Sharooz, Z-Listers, and others revved up the writing phase of 2012’s
sophomore “We’re Here With You”. The touring cycle that followed saw the band hit
Europe several times; the south-west US; festivals as far and wide as Hildesheim,
Utrecht and Vladivostok; and many sold out shows in their native LA.
In July 2014 Julien-K launched it’s third album concept with a 3 song prelude to an
ambitious double album-concept-esthetic-movement calling it “California Noir”. The
CA_Noir spirit was given a visual representation in November 2014 with the release of
the haunting video for the title track, showcasing their struggle to discover the
meaning of the California dream.
The concept continued with the wildly successful early 2015 Indiegogo campaign and
subsequent release of the first chapter: “California Noir: Analog Beaches and Digital
Julien-K is currently in the studio putting finishing touches on chapter 2: “California
Noir: Nightlife in Neon”
